Climbing lanyard: A climbing lanyard is defined as a complete via ferrata kit (rope and two carabiners with lanyards) EN958.

Rope means EN 892 dynamic rope (with UIAA certification) approved single rope, min. diameter 8.5mm, min. length 10 metres (1 per team). 

The EN12277 type harness with textile material must not be older than 10 years.

The safety officer, mountain guide Alain Kofler, considers it important for the section between the Aosta Hut and the Schönbiel Hut (10 km) the mandatory use of a helmet with EN 12492 approval.

Each runner must carry the necessary equipment with them for the duration of the race to deal safely with the weather conditions, the route and the altitude.

This must be carried in a sufficiently large rucksack.

It will NOT be possible to take or deposit any equipment at the Capanna Aosta hut or to receive it from external personnel.
